The TR-7 is a universal trigger output module that has various user programmable features combined into one unit. The user programmable features are stored in non volatile memory. Now that's a lot of stuff in a small package with only 7 wires. How's that possible? Its all done through programming. Microcontroller based means no potentiometer to adjust for timers. Setting the timer output is all done through programming. Trigger the TR-7 with either a (-) or (+) input. LED indicator and program switch.

The job it peforms is so crucial however, I had to buy another one. Finally it quit working all together. They are about half the price now as when I originally purchased. The default setting disables all the moving car restrictions for the Alpine head unit. Don't dwell on the DVD player running down the road, you can't even set the clock without this unit or finding and splicing a number of important vehicle wires.no thanks.Anyway, this unit works right out of the box, but starting getting flaky after a couple of months.

Programing other tasks is easy with the included instructions. It can also be programed to do about a million other tasks. I bought this product to watch video on my Alpine IVA-W505 when the vehicle is in motion. It was easy to install and came preprogramed for this task.

Also Ideal for an install in a camper or boat, it works perfectly and is very easy to install. I got this for a Clarion navagation/DVD/bluetooth Car stereo. It can also perform many other operations with it's programability. Much prefered to the toggle switch method. It was a real pain to pull the brake twice to be able to place a call on the bluetooth or enter an address for the navagation, or play a movie. This device can do it from either a single action (like pulling the brake on once)or just disable the restrictions all together.

I should have bought more PAC TR7's because after knowing a little more about what it can do, I can think of a few more things I could use it for. It took me a few tries but in less than 5 minutes it was up and running the way I wanted it to. If you are looking for any type of relay other than the standard 4 or 5 prong, I'm willing to bet that the PAC TR7 will cover what it is you need to have done but in a more simple and cleaner set up. Ok, so reading the programing instructions looked like it was going to be hard, but when it comes down to it just give it a whirl because it's not that bad.

Easy to install and if your using it for an alpine player it works right out of the box with no programming. Great item.
